The Yuri Anime List

This is a followup of this previous post:

The Yuri content Grading System + demo of The “List”.

Well, I’ve delayed this long enough. It’s finally time for the long awaited list of anime I’ve seen with yuri content! For both veterans and newcomers alike, here’s my most accurate guide that I can think of. Keep in mind that as long as anime continue existing and yuri remains a viable genre, this list will be endless. Keep in mind, canon or subtext is not an issue. As long as the girls in question show ANY REMOTE SIGN OF ROMANTIC OR SEXUAL INTEREST IN ONE ANOTHER, meaning touching, more than friend like behavior, repeated teasing with a goal of earning the girl in question’s attention, it counts.

Here’s how it works. The highlighted ones I’ve already reviewed and you can check those out for more details. I’ll post how many episodes the show has and if I haven’t reviewed it, I’ll include more details until the day I finally review it (It ain’t easy reviewing all this stuff. I’m not feal87). Lastly there’s the intensity level which indicates how intense the yuri is. I’ll also point out which are Hentai. Softcore means there are no men involved and the sex is quite tame, while Hardcore means there opposite.

15 comments on “The Yuri Anime List

  1. Serial Experiments should be waaay up there!

Lain’s feelings for Alive were like the driving force for the choices she made! Surely BAD END was waiting at the tunnel of that but it doesn’t belong in the bowels of the list. But I guess this makes sense to the general fans…so..erm…ah!

Any ways, this is one great list and the construct was really great!

Erm, so, I was looking for that 2011 list you were talking about, where can I find it?

    • Well, I shouldn’t have added Lain to the list because I haven’t seen it yet. I only heard rumors about the yuri. This list is far from updated. I still have many old shows I have yet to see.

It’s in the Yuri news/topics section.
It’s both topics on the Yuri Awards.

    • In case some of them don’t make sense why I revere them so much, I’ve also reviewed them. The G-Views is my anime review page. 150 (Plus more to come) of anime goodness.

  2. Madoka: “Hey, Shinji. Suck It!”

Speaking of Madoka, I’m assuming you are planning to wait until the end of the current season before adding Lagrange, Pirates, Symphogear, etc to the list.

I was wondering, was this only going to be an anime only list, or were you thinking about adding manga/light novels too? The manga versions of Hidamari Sketch and K-On might just boost both series each one grade. A couple of the Blue Drop manga series, especially the first series, could possibly be Grade 1.

Also when you consider the entirety of the Strike Witches cannon, not just the anime, the intensity might just increase to high due to the number of both cannon and implied couples.

    • I haven’t read enough manga to make a list of that yet. I do plan on doing that eventually. As for LNs, I have no idea where to find those…without buying them online.

As for the ongoing shows right now…yup, I need more confirmation and will wait till they end before adding them to the list.

  3. I wish Black Rock Shooter is high XD and that K-on is medium lol XD
    But i guess hints aren’t bad o 3o
and i never thought there are so many (le electric shock )
Is Gai Rei Zero awesome to watch? o3o

    • I plan on reviewing Ga-Rei Zero eventually. Stay tuned for that.
K-ON’s yuri is hardly noticeable and not enough to send our radar skyrocketing to orbit.
BRS TV has to finish before I make my final decision. 2 episodes aren’t enough to confirm this. Also that rating is for the OVA, not the TV anime.

  4. please add Nanoha series season1-3 +movie 2 medium I think maybe degree Grade 2: Secondary Genre. Yuri isn’t the main focus but it does play a very important role.
    I think so

  5. @Nokaei: I know all too well of Nanoha’s greatness but I need to finish the show myself, along with the others you mentioned. Since I don’t have plans on watching Zero no Tsukaima, I’ll add it anyway as a fan request.

  6. Most of this list is Great Animes!

Dedicated history, or good plot or great characters, I love them.
I saw most of the list above.
While people out there are watching Shonen animes, I find myself in this whole new universe, of wider mind perception and beauty.

Almost 35 y.o. and yet huge fan of these animes.
In memory of the great Kimura of Azumanga Daioh!

    See ya.

    • Stay tuned as there will be more shows coming in the near future. This list has a non-existent motto: If it has noteworthy yuri, it’ll make the list.
Thanks for stopping by and the comment dood.

As for the shounen anime comment, shounen isn’t my favorite genre (Possibly my least favorite for the moment) but that’s not saying the genre sucks as there are some non-action oriented shounen out there that I’ve greatly enjoyed.
