Expect a lot of blue in this upcoming update.
Today, EXAMU Inc. announced their plans to release an update to Arcana Heart 3, the latest installment in their flagship fighting series. Titled Arcana Heart 3 Love Max (!!!!!), this update uses the recently released console ports as a foundation, bringing with it 16:9 aspect ratio support (though actual gameplay remains in 4:3) and a training mode, plus a host of additional balance changes, new moves, and other system tweaks.
No news yet other than it hitting Japanese arcades this Winter, but I’m guessing that similarly to “Sugoi! Arcana Heart 2″, this update could also include new console exclusive characters. Whether this update will be priced or (hopefully) released as a patch will be revealed in time. This will give me a reason to pick up Arcana Heart 3 again.
In case you’ve never heard of this series, which I’m sure very few of you have, it’s a cult classic all-girl fighting game series (that isn’t a doujin game) that’s somewhat similar to the Guilty Gear and Blazblue series. The main difference is the Arcana system, which are otherworldly creatures that grant the fighters additional abilities and moves depending on which one you pick, adding more depth and strategies.
