Tari Tari 7+8: Is this show a Lifetime Channel sitcom?

Because that’s what it’s shaping up to be. It suddenly feels like the plot about the group forming a choir is the side salad while the drama is the main course.

I like doing that to my niece too.

It didn’t seem that way when episode 7 started as Poo Poo (Despite me cutting her some slack I’ll continue calling her that), has finally come around and is a team player now.

….oh, sorry. Okay, a White Fair featuring a fictional white rhino to mess with Enrique’s mind. Very nice.

The gang discuss what to do at the fair and eventually vote on opera, which Bob gets a “sound approval” from the girls. Of course getting the gig, or spot, won’t be easy.

I’m not angry at papa for holding Simba back from her dreams but for another reason. Anyway, despite me saying two weeks ago that if Simba has what it takes to make a living off her dream/hobby, go for it dood. However, I’ll agree with dad on having a backup plan, though that’s not exactly what he said.

And now some comments before getting to the more important second part.

You know, watching these high school anime where they’re always addressing the whole “thinking about your future” part of life, makes me emotionally sad and ask myself many questions about my current lifestyle. I wonder if I could have become…

Enrique writing a letter reminds me of myself whenever I’m “trying” to write editorials.

I don’t like seeing Simba depressed. I should have known the instant she mentioned her having daddy issues that she’d be the next victim of an obligatory dramatic development 2-parter.

Simba worrying about her weight? Makes me glad I’m not a girl…though it’ll make it much harder for me to pick up another girlfriend.

Aww c’mon ladies, Bob’s 100% right there.

“Farring Rove”…farring rove. Engrish at its finest.

“Art college” huh? Makes sense.

My reaction to the accident: Predictable but because it happened to Simba…

Okay next episode:

If I had talked about ep7 last week, I really would have been screaming “NO!” for 10 minutes. Also, D-Bry is yelling “NO!” now.

SCREW EQUESTRIAN COLLEGE! I mean, I seriously doubt Simba weighs more than 160 lbs. Also, she looks to be about 5’8 or so, maybe less.

Last week, Polka’s ex teammates belittled her team and they’re at it again. Simba gets pissed because they remind her of baka papa so she lays a verbal smackdown on their asses. Enrique tells the gang he has a piano and large enough room to accomodate five people. I wish my room were that big.

Lost Love…uhh, why did Polka pronounce it right this time? Ah, whatever, Farring Rove’s better.

Amazing, I actually agree with Poo Poo on something. I never thought I’d see the day.

Hmm, after seeing the Power Ranger figurines, there’s little doubt that Enrique will be the next drama king, unless they want to turn Bob sappy, which would make no sense since he already had his badminton crisis.

Sexy vice-principal tries to get in Team Polka’s way once again but an unexpected memory convinces her to give them one last chance. The audition date, today of course.

Sadly Simba’s out of action, even after Poo Poo tried her best to show how much she wants to repent.

Thankfully, Baka Papa does the right thing and comes to his senses by laying the smackdown on the shitty Jockey/Equestrian committee’s RIDICULOUS entry requirements. Polka shows her love for Simba by cheering her up along with the rest of the team.

YES! THIS IS THE SIMBA I ADORE! Never forget your badassery!

Look, I already forgave Poo Poo, STOP SHOVING HER STEALING SIMBA’S SPOTLIGHT IN MY FACE! I get it, she’s turned face, I FRICKEN GET IT!

Ride Simba, RIDE AND JIGGLE LIKE THE WIND! There, that’s my obligatory sex joke.

Anyway, I assume it the audition went well. Next week, as I expected, Enrique’s drama two parter begins.

You might have noticed Wakana is billed first in the ending credits. Simply put, she’s pretty much the protagonist of this series so if you don’t like her you probably should stop watching or something. As the series gets closer to the end, she will start to take the spotlight more and more…

I rant about stuff sometimes. Wakana happens to be one of my rant topics on this show.

    • She might be. Even in the first episode, it was her and her family that first, uhm, appeared then there’s her mother who always appear in flashbacks, especially with the teacher’s.

How many episodes would this anime have? 12 or 13? I don’t think it’s actually enough for them to have their own story arcs. But then again, Sawa’s arc is finished in 2 episodes and Wakana’s in 5 or 6 as I see it since even in episode 1 her background conflict was already revealed. Hmm…

  2. You ever seen a horse jockey before? Even being what is normally skinny and kinda short, Sawa is still to big. She’s not fat or nothing, she’s just…normal. You basically gotta be a midget to do equine sports.
