Here we are at the penultimate episode and the gloves are most definitely off.
I’ll talk about the beginning later, for obvious reasons. Right now, let’s get right to it wit Quartz Christie, or Sparkly Snugglebutt, sits comfortably in the conference room as she calmly/cockily observes the macho pirate meatheads’ pissed off expressions over her threatening presence…more like I wanna bang that broad.
That is, until Marika shows up and unleashes her already established badassery by calmly settling the score with Snugglebutt in a ship battle between the Bentenmaru and the Grand Cross…or maybe a free for all pirate ship battle royale. We’ll find out next week.
Eventually Ironbeard shows up to retrieve Snugglebutt under the Queen of the Empire’s orders. I’m guessing Snugglebutt is either a relative or heir to the throne. Either way, she’s someone important it would seem. Marika also interrogates Ironbeard only to get a message about exploring the ends of space…or something. This show has used a lot of really cool phrases about pirates, the ocean/space, exploration, piracy and other neat stuff that would intrigue fans of both sci-fi and tales of the seven seas.
Two more things, legendary chef has some Titan Cooks under his employ and as for this reckless youthful pirate captain here…he learns a harsh lesson for his lack of experience.
Random scene with my dearest Sasha and others talking about Marika kicking ass at the gathering. No Gruier or Grunhilde for two straight weeks. I guess they’ll make one final appearance next week.
Like I said, he got his after trying to make a name for himself b trying to take down Snugglebutt and Ironbeard. However,

This is why I scoff at people who whine about life sucking or being boring.
First we had an android double and now it’s twins. That pretty much explains why “Kane” was so rough on our ladies during the beach episode.
Before I go on, I just noticed why this pirate chick looks so familiar.
She looks like Carmen, that one shot rival cook Sanji faced off against. Irrelevant but amusing resemblance.
They needed someone to control the electronic warfare portion of the fight, so they get Coorie, Queen of the geeks to do it. I wonder if it’s the glasses, her casually cute nerdettiness or her bottomless stomach that makes her attractive without having to show off her bodacious inner self? Maybe Miss AJ can help answer this question.

Marika’s message is calm and to the point while Snugglebutt is a typical big bad’s promo of doom, if you can hear it clearly.

Where are Gruier and Grunhilde? Plotting a triumphant return I suspect. Gruier has a Ninja-Maid and a Combat Butler (and a whole lot of money) so I don’t think she’ll sit idly by while the Parfait of Destiny is in danger.
I should give the Captain Harlock series a go one of these days. Well, before said lady you mentioned, Irisviel von Einzbern was the only cutie I knew who wore that white attire.

Chiaki duet with Marika was so cute and she definitely enjoyed singing with her. They could have done a much more adorable song, but this still displays her embarressment perfectly.
