Toonami’s debut lineup is revealed

This week, the initial Toonami lineup for its debut weekend has been revealed.

12:00 a.m.Bleach
12:30 a.m.Deadman Wonderland
1:00 a.m.Casshern Sins
1:30 a.m.Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
2:00 a.m.Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd GIG
2:30 a.m.Cowboy Bebop

As to why the lineup’s so small and unimpressive right now, here’s what Jason Demarco had to say:

“Something you should know about THIS Toonami: We have very, very little $$. This experiment will need ratings success to receive more funding for new shows, more [mascot character] Tom animation, etc. I’m thankful for the $$ we’ve gotten, but it isn’t a lot.”

My thoughts? CN LA still doesn’t have Toonami so I’ll stick to fansubs for now. Besides, there aren’t any particular action shows I’m interested in right now other than the Thundercats reboot, Transformers Prime and Legend of Korra.

Back on topic. The answer’s quite simple: All you Toonami fans want more shounen anime requests, tune in this weekend and support the show with plenty of views and stuff. You gotta admit, the lineup’s a decent start. ANYTHING’S BETTER THAN “THE AMAZING WORLD OF GUMBALL!”

I knew they were gonna pull this crap. Tell the fans “Toonami” is coming back, and stick us with this. Masterful trolling there.

Uhhhh, just tune in and beg like a monkey for them to get more cash or something. I don’t have as many fond memories with Toonami as other people, which is why this doesn’t bother me at all. If I were an American, I’d actually watch Deadman Wonderland. Why? Because it’s on TV and I won’t have to waste my time downloading it.

Besides, most of those shows look like pretty good action shows to me. Then again, I’ve only watched like two of them.

Only Casshern Sins and Deadman Wonderland are new. The rest is the usual Adult Swim Saturday night line up. It’s called false advertising.

No, it’s called overoptimism. Give me a fucking break other fanboys out there. Capcom’s bullshitting is worse than this. So they don’t pick good shows for their initial lineup. DW and CS don’t look like mainstream hits anyway so of course they had to pick B-Rated action shows with the budget they have. As for reruns, hell, I’m in no hurry whatsoever for new English dubbed action shows. They can take their sweet time for all I care.

Look at it this way, tune in and you might actually get Dubbed Durarara or Persona 4. Has P4 been dubbed yet?

      • randomredneck says:

I hate Durarara and Persona 4. And the issue is this isn’t an initial lineup. It’s an old lineup, that they think they can pass off as Toonami. Well, I’m not buying. This sucks. SARA is gone, Cullen isn’t doing VO for the bumpers anymore, new TOM looks horrendous, the lineup is a giant middle finger…it’s just mean.

    • Overlord-G says:

Hey, I just decided to report the news because I know what Toonami is. Like I said earlier, I didn’t grow up with US Toonami like you did so I don’t share your rage. Besides, I liked Toonami better when Moltar was in charge.
Well if you don’t like the new Toonami, you don’t. Nothing I can do about it.

Deadman Wonderland just made my life. I love that show!!!!!!
