Let’s see what we got this week in episode 7:
-”Irongirl” Arata’s match against Dr Megane could pretty much have been a Dark Match, but at least we got some moves, like her “Ten Pin Shuffle”. She dropped to 3rd place after one of the random teams, at the last moment got a flashback. Personally I thought it was pointless but make of it what you will. Oh, and Arata gets her own flashback about fighting for her dojo, fans and beloved Coach Anderson.
-On to Shizu’s match, which thankfully lasted longer. It was a close call but Shizu pulled through at the last moment when the 3rd team’s final player made a mistake that gave Shizu the opportunity to use her patented “Bionic Ass Crusher” on the victim. Yes, I also noticed Ako being the one who showed the most support. ShizuXAko FTW!
So The Dream Team at least qualified for the semi-finals, placing 2nd.
While the girls were overjoyed they qualified, The Enforcer, like any professional coach would, scolded our heroines for taking this victory too lightly considering the 90000 point difference with The Noble Core. To make matters more intense, their next opponents in the semi-finals…The Ministry of Chaos…obviously.
She’d better be as terrifying as the tabloids keep claiming. Sure, we saw her in action for a few seconds (I think) in season 1, but hopefully her first victim will feel the wrath of the Terrifying Beauty from Death Valley.
Shizu craves ramen, the ultimate meal for protagonists.
On their way to the shop, they notice The Enforcer talking with her sensei about another return to the squared circle. Ako feels she’s using them but Arata, being the blossoming lesbian in love she is, chooses to believe in her coach to the very end. As the team slowly fell apart, an extremely familiar (and obviously fan favorite of millions) makes her presence felt.
Could it be?
Oh, and one more special treat.
Next week, more cameos from nation favorites. Don’t miss it.
