“Cakezilla” in her Maximum Mahjong diva photo shoot.
When we last left the Dream Team vs Noble Core match, Toki the Psychonaut brutally dominated Kuro Cheesecake and the other two in the match. Yuu Cheesecake, determined to avenge her beloved imouto’s loss, is now facing off against NC member, the Instigator of liliness, Izumi O’ Haire. Will the Scarfed Rider successfully recover the points lost by Kuro and eat “cake” later on in the hotel room?
We kick things off with a flashback showing Kuro defending her sweet, innocent onee-chan from typical bully boys who were bored and have yet to fully develop their Towers of Babel. Poor fools. I assume Kuro has saved Yuu many times in the past and now it’s the Snow Bunny’s turn to fight for Big Jugga Jump’s honor.
And The Scarfed Rider wastes no time hitting the Instigator with a powerful Riichi Suplex! Following up with a Ron toe hold on Random Nurse for 3200 points.
However, it appears Izumi was not phased by the first attack and patiently waits to hits a spinning Ron kick on Yuu for 3900 points.
Oh, I forgot to introduce the new commentators replacing the previous ones in the 1st season of Saki. In white we have Leslie Cole. In the red kimono we have a veteran manager and future hall of famer, Mona Chucha who will be filling the role of color commentator and expert analyst.
Feeling cornered and unable to counter Izumi’s attacks, Yuu digs deep down to remember a strategy she used when her opponents were able to predict her moves. Izumi sees this as Yuu changing from a Honitsu to a Chinitsu fighting style.
BY GOSH KING! Yuu initiates her counterattack by not matching colors at all! First off she hits Rider Strike” busting Izumi’s head open!”
Following it up with a “Rabid Blizzard” attack!
Senriyama: 149.300
Achiga Jyoshi: 71.300
You owe me dessert tonight nee-chan.
As you can tell from the scoreboard, Toki’s victory in the 1st match was far too dominant for Yuu’s comeback in the 2nd to really up enough points for a lead. Still, The Scarfed Rider came back hard and send a message to the other team “Nobody messes with my dessert!”
Ako “@fkeroge killer” Janetty, ready to kick major ass as she’ll be facing:
“The Straight Edge Tomboy”, Yankee Doodleeeee Sera!
Who due to both tournament rules and moe-anime commandment #34, MUST be emotionally embarrassed for the sake of “cuteness”.
Wanting to never let go of the spotlight, this girl wishes to remain a background buddy till the end of the show’s broadcast. So yeah, she’s not going away as some of us had previously thought.
No sooner had the bell rung Ako comes in strong with blow after blow to her adversaries, determined to rack enough points to come back from last place and give her teammates a major advantage. She gets 7700 points for effort. To describe Ako’s potential in my lingo (Pro wrestling talk), she’s an indy wrestler who has the potential to be a World Champion, but due to lack of character is swept under the rug by most until it’s too late. Ironically similar to the wrestler counterpart I named her after, Marty Janetty.
However, while Ako’s going for a quick and steady rise up to 1st place, Sera prefers to wait for the right moment and land a powerful Tsumo Slam to rake up big points in one shot.
Ako’s performance was more than enough to take Achiga up from last to 2nd place.
Next week it’s Irongirl, Arata Neidhart vs:
The Noble Core’s Vice Captain and Mad Scientist: Dr Megane, Hiroko Severn.
Looking forward to next week cause maybe like this week, we’ll get two matches in a row, which means SHIZU will be wrestling! If not, there’s always the next team.

Just got caught back up.
First I have to say this, Toki and Ryuuka are clearly in the process of delivering for the Nation. Also I’m not quite as worried Toki having a case of “fatal plot device” as I was before. I just love how it looks like Ryuuka want’s nothing more then to provide a nice place for Toki to rest. Also I’m waiting until Toki and Ryuuka and Kuro and Yuu become friends.
Truly wonderful, even though Yuu wasn’t able to win back all of Kuro’s points, her love for her sister truly shown through. I wonder what Kuro will do about not being able to summon her dragons for the next few games? Will Yuu engage her in some intensive Yuri mahjong single combat to get her ready for the semi finals? Or will the intensity of Yuu’s feelings be enough for Kuro’s heart to break all her limits and summon her dragon army to the field once more?
You know if the series does continue past the current Nationals to next year, I could honestly see Ako’s middle school friend transferring to Achiga. At the very least next time she won’t be just some background character. Interesting to note, her character design is neither “super generic” or “trying too hard to stand out” that is the norm for background characters / opponents that get plowed under by the main characters via the truckload.
Next week I suspect we will get a wonderful performance of Yuri mahjong from Arata motivated by her desire to show her beloved Harue that she is worthy of being by her side. Also will we get to see Ryuuka vs Shizuno and see who’s feelings are more intense?
Toki will use her foresight powers to predict all of Ryuuka’s moves and become the dominant one in bed.
Yuu did a great enough job to earn entrance inside Kuro’s “bakery”.
I want a beach episode after the match with Senriyama. Ako looks good for her age.
I wonder how much of Arata’s desire to impress the coach will be shown? When it comes to this show, she won’t hide it at all. As for Shizu, I just want to see her wrestle. She IS the main character after all.
Your wish for a beach episode will probably all depend on if after this round of the tournament is over will they move right onto the semi-finals or what. I would almost say we might not actually get to the semi-finals this season since it doesn’t seem to be enough episodes left to properly cover it. The semi-finals, especially since Teru is going to actually be playing on screen, probably needs at least 10 episodes to do it justice.
The point of this season is to see The Dream Team take out at least two Quarter Final teams and the semi-finals will be reserved for Saki 2. Ah well, at least I got a steamy picture featuring all the ladies in their bikinis. I’ll at least thank feal87′s posse for that much. Even if I don’t get a beach episode, I at least got some hot pics with the girls showing off more skin. Kinda sad a 24 year old such as myself still yearns for minimum 15 year old and up hotties. Ah, the disadvantages of being me. Ah well, someday my 3D goddess will appear to challenge me for her heart.
“@fkeroge Killer”
What the heck does that even mean?
I knew you’d take the bait. Don’t neither take it seriously or think about it too much.
Damn it.
LOL9K. Like how did you got a cameo in his posts?
I figured he had a short sense of humor so I placed this trap for him, just to mess with his short fuse and it worked to perfection. I know what it’s like being uptight, at least his posts make him out to be a sourpuss most of the time. However, this will be the last time I push his buttons.
if they will show even a little of teru match in one or two episodes it will be great
We can only be so lucky to be privileged by the phenom’s presence this season.
This series so far has followed the formula 1 manga chapter : 1 episode, except this 6th chapter which was 94 pages long, so they correctly decided to split it into two episodes.
Next episode should be the conclusion of the quarterfinals, then we have one or two episodes of “training” followed by the semifinals match against Teru’s team. Can’t wait for animated Teru, she is just too badass!
I haven’t read, nor do I plan to read the manga. As long as we get more yuri and wrestling, I’m okay with it. Besides, why nitpick over every detail difference between the manga and anime?
