As you all know by now, I’m a fan of this series and have covered both the previous two games as much as possible. Of course very few share my fandom for the series but that fact alone makes me happy. I don’t like crowds.
Anyway, The “V” actually stands for “Victory.” The game is set in the 80′s and features improved visuals over the previous two games, actually they’re the best the series has seen by far as you’ll soon find out. Interesting time period since neither the Playstation or Xbox existed then. Maybe it’s a “what if” where Sony and Microsoft were also part of the console wars involving Nintendo, Atari and Sega (which of course Atari quickly lost when the NES started becoming popular). There are also hints of it involving a feudal Japan type story as both Lowee and Leanbox supposedly want to conquer Lastation. Planeptune of course isn’t involved.

While I do like Neptune’s new uniform, Blanc smiling gives me the creeps.

While I’m not know as much of a graphics whore, I will admit Purple Heart looks sexier with improved graphics.
Hopefully this awesome looking dungeon will be a sign of other areas in the game seeing an equally impressive improvement.
And here we have everyone’s favorite tsundere and #1 voted character in the Neptunia Mk2 popularity poll, Noire. I also saw an image of Black Heart getting a new look. I’m intrigued because Black Heart is the sexiest of the 4 main goddesses imo.
Ah, that’s more like it. Blanc is more well known for being serious, sharp tongued and short tempered. In short, a Type-A tsundere.
Well, from these pics we can conclude that unlike the previous games, you’ll be able to play as the 4 goddesses immediately rather than unlocking them through long, complicated steps. If you look at one screen, you’ll notice a 2nd photo below Neptune’s which is Nepgear, the main character from the 2nd game and Neptune’s imouto. Could this mean the other sisters will also be in the game? That’s be pretty cool.
Neptune V, as it’s currently known in Japan, will be released sometime this Summer and if all goes well, the fan request is high enough and everything goes according to plan, we’ll hopefully see a Western import February 2013.
