Guilty Crown: Very Important Question

This question was inspired by the lovely Animeprincess’ deep, motivating, enlightening, life changing and epic post which in her mind sums up why Guilty Crown sucks. Now I haven’t picked up the show at all buuuuuuut seeing as one of my favorite hobbies as an animeniac is bashing, mocking, ridiculing and spitting in the face of male anime protagonists who deserve it, I’d like to ask any GC fan who shares Animeprincess’ feelings for the show by answering this one question: Is Ouma Shu that bad of a protagonist?

Bonus question: Would my fans like for me to go against my better judgment, pick up GC and give Ouma Shu one of my trademark bashings?

Top 10 Reasons Why You Should Not Watch Guilty Crown

C’mon doods. I need to know. I haven’t pummeled a male lead in a while. I must know if this guy is THAT pathetic. I need fresh meat!

  1. Stevie Nix says:

I never watched Guilty Crown and it never really caught my eye so I honestly don’t know how bad is it. That said, hey if you want to go for it! I enjoy your reviews and I do like a well thought out and reasonable bashing of a bad series.

    • Overlord-G says:

I need valid reasons to want to bash the protagonist. Since nobody wants to give me legitimate reasons to bash the male lead and the show he’s in, I won’t bother.

  2. Rincewind says:

Guilty Crown… sorry, never watched it.
I found the premise… unnimpressive. And has a male lead. So not my type of show. :P

    • Overlord-G says:

That’s not right. Just because the show has a male lead doesn’t mean it’ll suck. Granted this one supposedly isn’t good but ignoring a show due to there being a male lead is silly.

      • Rincewind says:

Having a male lead give a minus point in my “priority-watching-scaling-system-o-matic”.
Having a premise that I dont like give a minus points.
Having characters design that I dont like give another minus point.
And the finnal nail of the coffin, everyone is saying that its terrible online. Another minus point.

I dont have enough time to watch things that I probably will not like. And Guilty Crown gets too much minus points and none plus points.
Too many games to play, anime to view, fanart to draw, fanfics to write…

And for good male lead, must be someone really GAR like Kenshiro, someone really cool like Key’s male protagonist or someone really funny, like NaGARsumi from Seto no Hanayome.
Not really someone like Yukki from Mirai Nikki… I watch Mirai Nikki, by the way. Akise in other hand, is great.

Good to know these things dood. Helps show me what you looks for in male leads.

  3. thehippiefreak says:

I’m in the middle of reviewing GC atm OG, sadly, I actually like the main character (at least, in the end)

    • Overlord-G says:

No no no Mr Hippie. I’m talking about the overall opinion of him throughout the show. One defining moment doesn’t count. Let’s face facts, most Action Anime male leads have AT LEAST one defining moment that temporarily makes them look cool. However, for the rest of the show they suck. Based on your answer, he’s sucked for the majority of the show and that’s what I want to know…unless you can convince me he didn’t suck outside of the last batch of episodes.

  4. thehippiefreak says:

    He had atleast 3-4
