136th G-View: Dog Days

Hey doods and peeps, welcome to another episode of the G-Views. Here’s a show I wasn’t expecting to be as entertaining as it turned out to be, even with its evident flaws. Let’s walk the dog and  the “hottest days of Summer”, or in this show’s case Spring, in Dog Days.

Important note: For those expecting cat and dog puns, I’ll save you the agony of having to read them and keep them at a bare minimum. Okie dokie, on with the review.

135th G-View: Avenger

Hey doods and peeps, welcome to another episode of the G-Views. Last year I talked about an obscure and quite enjoyable short anime by Bee Train (Best known for their Girls With Guns Trilogy among other productions), Murder Princess. It was quite an enjoyable treat imo. I recently found another rare show in Avenger. Did it fare as well as MP did? Read on and find out.

Is discovering Aoi Yuki “Fate”?

One thing many doods and peeps I keep in contact with know I’m a huge Aoi Yuuki fan, but I just noticed something interesting during a conversation with one of my broskis “tsurugiarashix“. Eventually it concluded with the following realization on my part: Many anime I’ve reviewed so far and given high praise to involve Aoi Yuuki in either the main role or supporting cast member. You don’t believe me? Check out the reviews on the following shows I’m about to mention that she’s in, in the G-Views page.

Objection! The trailer I’ve been waiting for is finally here. Take THIS!

Capcom, you sly devils. Once again you’ve preyed on my weak spot using one of your most well known and possibly hated marketing strategies: re-releasing the same game with extra content. For years you’ve been doing this to us and I doubt you’re ever going to stop. It matters not. Very soon, Team Capital Justice (Captain America, She-Hulk and Phoenix Wright) will dominate the gaming world! Bwahahahahahaha!

Oh, and Nova also looks pretty impressive. Weird that he doesn’t have a Level 3 Hyper Combo but it doesn’t look like that won’t hinder him one bit.

Pay very close attention to the where Phoenix is standing. That picture made me laugh out loud because Capcom themselves are intentionally rubbing salt on hardcore fanboys and babies’ wounds. My hat goes off to you Capcom. Make those babies whine until they lose their voices.

Saki – Achiga-hen episode of side – A to get anime adaptation in spring 2012

With the leaked possible lineup of both Winter and Spring released by one of my broskis, Kaminarianime, there will be some really cool shows premiering in the next season. However, 1 caught my eye…just one.

…Two years…two agonizing years…

On the latest issue of manga magazine, “Young Gangan“, it was revealed that Igarashi Aguri’s spin-off manga, “Saki – Achiga-hen episode of side – A“, would be getting an anime adaptation in the spring of 2012.

“Achiga-hen”, which started its serialization in the September issue of “Monthly Shonen Gangan“, portrays a completely different story from the original “Saki“. ”Saki” revolves around high school girls who train hard to win the national high school mahjong competition. In 2009, it gained popularity as it was adapted into a tv anime. “Achiga-hen” will focus on ‘Haramura Nodoka’, one of the main characters from “Saki”, and her childhood friends ‘Ako’ and ‘Shizuno’.

More details are scheduled to be announced in the December issue of “Monthly Shonen Gangan”.

Meanwhile, TV Tokyo has started broadcasting reruns of “Saki” every late Thursday nights at 2:15am. Additionally, “Saki” will be released as a Blu-Ray box-set on March 7th, 2012.

This should hopefully keep “the nation” happy for the time being. Of course I’m a little disappointed that we’re not getting season 2 but hey, I’m a humble guy. I’ll obviously give this show a watch once it premieres next year.

In case some of you haven’t figured out how I feel about this show, here’s a hint: #2.
