Guilty Gear Xrd Sign announced

Guilty-Gear-Xrd-TitleNope, it’s not another Guilty Gear XX expansion. It’s a legitimate sequel at long last. No, Guilty Gear: Overture doesn’t count.

After many years of waiting and more focus being put on the Blazblue series and Persona 4 Arena, Arc System Works announced during their big 25th Anniversary Festival that they will be releasing a sequel to the Guilty Gear franchise entitled Guilty Gear Xrd Sign (ixird/third sign), or Guilty Gear XXX if you want to make an obvious joke.

The trailer depicts a fight between series protagonist Sol Badguy and his rival Ky Kisuke, and demonstrates that the game will not use 2D sprites.  Built using the Unreal Engine, the game’s characters are instead 3D models with a very stylized cel-shading to maintain the aesthetics of the characters. The animation reminds me of King of Fighters XII and XIII somehow. Also, near the end of the trailer, fans also get a short glimpse of the lovely assassin with lethal blonde hair, Millia Rage, donning a new look.

The game is currently in development and will probably hit Japanese arcades before seeing a console port. Chances are the game will hit next-gen consoles rather than the PS3 and 360. Hopefully that means like Accent Core for Wii, we’ll see a Wii-U release for XXX as well as the PS4 and 720.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Flash

Legend of Heroes, Trails in the FlashSource:

I have never played a Legend of Heroes game before, mainly because I do not own a PSP. However, I have been curious for quite some time as to whether it’s worth playing or not. Recently, a new LoH game had been announced and it’ll be coming out for both the PSV and PS3. should this game get a Western release after its September 26th, 2013 Japan release date, this could end up being the very first LoH game I’ll have ever played. We shall see what happens. For now, check out the above link to get a preview of what the gameplay will be like.

Blazblue Anime Announced

I really do not have much to say about this news. I do own “Blazblue: Continuum Shift Extend”, which contains an abridged version of Calamity Trigger’s story. That will help me understand the plot better and determine whether this series is worth hyping or not. After all, Guilty Gear didn’t get an anime series so what makes Blazblue better? We will all find out eventually.

For more info, click on the above source. Hmm, I wonder which characters will appear on the show and whether we’ll get to see Taokaka’s face?

One last thing before I continue, Summer looks like it’s going to be SOOOOOOOOOO OG-TACULAR!
